Melancholyosity

?

I just got out of the gym, having played a game of H-O-R-S-E with my son Micah. It had been many years since we last played – when he was young we played all the time in our backyard.

??

We definitely looked like a couple of white boys – let’s just say our shooting skills have diminished a bit!

??

Sitting now at my desk I’m pretty melancholy. I miss Micah being a little boy (he’s 20 now), always under foot, always wanting to play something, always going to the emergency room. (Micah could practically suture himself by the time he was seven.)
?
?I often think of the 1974 folk rock song by Harry Chapin – “Cat’s in the Cradle”.

??

I know time marches on, I know that kids are supposed to grow up, I know… but I’m still feeling sad. Time for a little Chapin.
?Peace,
?Dave
