Today, I am in Oshkosh, WI with a group of middle and high school students (and some adults). We?re here for Lifest Christian Music Festival (pronounced Life-fest). We got here on Wednesday and will be coming home on Sunday. We?re having a great time camping, hanging out, and attending some great concerts. You can find out more about Lifest here. Tonight, we?re planning to see Aaron Shust, Shane & Shane, David Crowder, Philips Craig & Dean, and Pillar, just to name a few.
One of the reasons I love Lifest is that it provides an opportunity to spend an extended amount of time with students. As we spend time together, relationships develop, meaningful conversations happen, and the doors open for ministry. My professors at Trinity always said, “Ministry happens in the context of relationships.” I think there is a lot of truth to that statement. That?s why I?m so thankful for opportunities like this.
If you think of it, please pray for good weather for us…camping and outdoor concerts aren?t much fun in the rain. More importantly, you could pray for our safety as we travel home on Sunday…we should just make it home in time for the 9am service.
