An ACC’er Serving Christ in Colorado!!!

Hello ACC family!

For those who don’t know me, my name is Jenae Arvidson and I began going to youth group and AWANA at ACC when I was in sixth grade. I started going to church on Sundays when I was in High School and was baptized at ACC when I was a freshman in High School. When I graduated Buffalo Grove High School in 2011, I started attending Hope College in Holland, Michigan. This past May I graduated from college with majors in psychology and religion. Even though I am away from ACC most of the year, I still enjoy coming back every time I am home. I am grateful and excited to share with you all what is next for me!

Starting September 1st, I will begin on staff at an organization in Colorado Springs called the Dale House Project. The Dale House is a partner of Young Life that is a residential living facility for youth referred by the Department of Youth Corrections and Department of Human Services. While the residents are living there, they can go to school and work. During my time there, I will assist the youth in finding and flourishing in their jobs, finishing school, and helping them learn life skills to live independently. They also get to have experiences they probably wouldn’t have if it weren’t for this organization. When I visited the Dale House in April, I saw the ways the staff live out their faith in loving and praying for the youth and I’m so excited to be a part of that.

While I am on staff at Dale House, I will be required to raise my own support of $1,000 for every month I am there, so $12,000 total. Would you please consider supporting me financially in this experience? While I am nervous about raising these funds, I am trusting and praying that God will provide. The support will go to room and board, health benefits, and courses at Fuller Theological Seminary. This also goes to a stipend which I will use for some personal expenses and for savings.

Some other ways you can support me and other staff and residents in this experience is through prayer and encouragement. Please pray for the youth to grow personally, independently, and spiritually; for their minds to be opened to the ways they can grow. Since being on Dale House staff poses many challenges, as well as rewards, I and the rest of the staff would love prayer as we show Christ’s love to the youth as much as we can.

Thank you so much for your time and consideration of support.
